Albert Einstein’s Quote For Making Better Decisions

I'm coming to you today all the way from the Einstein Tower in Berlin, Germany. It's an observatory named after Albert Einstein the world-renowned German physicist and also the creator of the most famous equation ever: E=mc(squared).

Today I want to talk to you about one of his quotes that you may not have heard before. Why? Because it will help you to make better decisions. And better decisions lead to better results.

A lot of you may not know, but in 1933, when the Nazis rose to power, Einstein was visiting in the USA at the time. He decided, because he was Jewish, that he didn't want to come back to Germany. Instead, he sought citizenship in the USA.

And, not only was he a great physicist, he was also a really great philosopher. So before I get to the main quote I'd like to share today, Einstein also had this great quote where he really explained from a physical point of view that human beings are really trapped inside their own delusion of consciousness of our own mind, and that restricts us to only caring about people closest to us.

He said that our task is really to widen our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty. And I thought that was quite deep. But like I mentioned, that's not the quote for today though.

Albert Einstein's Method For Making Better Decisions

The quote I want to give you today is this:

"Not everything that counts can be counted."

Now, what does that mean?

It means that when you're researching something or trying to make a decision, you've got a whole bunch of information and data. But not everything that counts in your decision-making process can be counted. It's not all about the data that you can write down and calculate and tabulate.

How it helped me personally in my own life is when I wanted to give up and change careers, give up my IT career and start Authentic Education. Sure, the money was a lot less. You can count money and I can plainly see that it doesn't stack up. But not everything that counts can be counted.

What about the personal fulfillment, the rewarding aspect, the legacy that you're going to leave? Those things can't really be counted.

So, having known this, I decided to start Authentic Education. It definitely helped in that process as well.

Hopefully this will help you make better decisions in your life when you've got big decisions to make, or even small decisions about whether to purchase something. Sure, everything has a price tag, but not everything that counts can be counted. What about the way it makes you feel in terms of compassion, love etc. All of those things matter as well.

I hope that helps you out in the next small or big decision you have to make. Just remember, not everything that counts can be counted as well.
