Is A “Lifestyle Business” Really Possible?

Do you feel that sometimes you are living just to work instead of actually working to live?

Or have you come to the realisation that your business actually runs you instead of you running your business?

If this is the case, then I would like to introduce you to the concept of the "lifestyle business", and in the very short video below, you'll learn why a lifestyle business can give you both the freedom and the income that you actually deserve, and why a lifestyle business could be easier than you think to set up.

The reason behind this might actually surprise you, and that's because most people get business totally wrong. The very first step that most people take when they are starting a brand new business is by becoming self employed, and in theory, that actually makes sense.

It sounds great, right? "I'm self employed." You become your own boss, you no longer have to answer to anyone at all, you set your own hours and you get to keep all the profits. What could be better than that?

But the harsh reality is this: You end up working longer hours, you have less free time because you're working so much, you become on call seven days a week, because you're so desperate to generate new business, and you actually end up making less money over the long term, because maintaining a consistent income is hard when you're actually doing everything in the business all by yourself.

I've seen this happen time and time again, so if you're planning on creating a business, and then expecting the amazing lifestyle to magically follow, then you're almost guaranteed to find yourself in a job where you just happen to be the boss, but you have way more stress than you've ever had before.

The good news is it actually does not have to be this way at all, and the answer is as simple as actually doing the opposite. Who would've thought? You just literally do the opposite. What you need to do is actually determine your ideal lifestyle first, and then build a business around your lifestyle, and if you get this right, you're bound to be successful.

Here's how you actually do it:

The first thing you need to do is grab a pen and a piece of paper and list out the following things:

1. What hours do you actually want to work?

Do you like to sleep in, or do you prefer to work late and all the way through to the end of the night? If you like to get up early for example, then do business with countries that are already awake.

There's no point waiting around 'til 9 AM until Australia wakes up. Do business with countries like the US for example.

2. Do you want to work from home, or do you prefer going out and meeting people face to face?

For example, some lifestyle businesses such as coaching and consulting can be conducted in cafes or over the phone without needing to be tied down to any office of any description.

3. What product, service or skill can you provide that you're truly passionate about and will make you happy day in, day out?

These days, anyone can develop a new product or service and sell it online for very little investment up front. If you're stuck in a job that you don't like, there's plenty of resources available to show you exactly how you can actually prosper from what you really really are passionate about.

4.Do you love to travel?

If so, then all you really need is a laptop and an internet connection, and you can run your business from anywhere in the world.

5. Are you good at presenting, such as webinars or one to one or from stage to large audiences?

Presenting can actually be one of the highest forms of leverage for any business, because you can multiply your time and efforts and reach hundreds of people all at the same time.

Becoming A Difference-Maker Educator

After you've listed down all of the answers to those five things, start to really look inside yourself and really determine what really makes you happy, and I'm just going to say that again, determine what makes you happy, what you're passionate about, and what you would enjoy spending your actual time doing, and there are many lifestyle business ideas that you could actually come up with.

When it comes to the perfect mix of fulfillment, flexibility and a capacity to earn a great income, we've found that the most successful people end up becoming what is called a difference maker educator.

That's where you can get paid for simply sharing your advice with other people. That could be through creating online courses, writing a blog, creating digital products or just promoting other people's products that you truly believe in, and that's where you're getting fulfillment, because you're sharing ideas on a topic that you're actually passionate about.

It's where you're getting flexibility, because you can do it anywhere, either as a home based business or you can travel the world and have a travel based business, and you're also getting a fantastic income, because online education is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. In fact, e-learning is a $165 billion market right now, and it is expected to grow to $243 billion by 2022.

And by the way, that's actually in US dollars, so it's well over $3 billion Australian, so if you're wondering is the industry big enough, it is huge.

There really has never been a better time in history for people to follow their passion and to get paid handsomely well for it then right now in this moment, so if you're serious about doing what you love, then start with your ideal lifestyle and then design a business around that.
