Want to know how to change your life radically?
21 years ago I heard Dr. Wayne Dyer say this profound quote: “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”
I thought "But what does that really mean? Surely it's not that easy to change my life!"
I was a bit skeptical so I began to immerse myself in the teachings of all the "gurus" around the world. The reason I did that is because my life was screwed up...I was heavily overweight, taking medication and in debt as well.
During all these teachings I discovered the secret was aligning the heart, head and hand. All 3 MUST occur for you to change your life completely:
1. Activate Your Purpose (Your Heart)
Everyone is so busy these days, it's no wonder they call it the "rat race". But if you spend all your time with your head down working, how will you ever see the BIGGER PICTURE of WHY you're doing something?
And if you never see the bigger picture, you're doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. You can easily spend months, years (and an entire lifetime) caught up in the "busy-ness" of life.
If you don't know WHY you exist, it’s very hard to work out what you want to do with your life. That’s why you need to find and live on purpose. It gives you the direction and inspiration to create fast and lasting changes in your life.
But what if I don’t know my purpose? Then your purpose is to find you purpose. Your purpose is important because it ties into your vision, mission and goals.
You can start by siting in a quiet space and tune into what you desire the most. It helps to ask these 3 questions:
- What does my IDEAL life look like in 3 years time?
- What do I need to START doing more of now?
- What do I need to STOP doing now?
- ** A note for perfectionists! You don't have to know your purpose with 100% clarity though. Most people are expecting "love at first sight" with their purpose... but just like a relationship, this rarely happens in reality. Something as simple as "to do what I love and get paid for it" can be enough to start. Then you can refine it along the way.
2. Liberate Your Mind (Your Head)
Einstein said “You can’t solve a problem with same level of thinking that created it”.
don't deserve success" or "Making money is hard work". Even if we don't, we can't possibly be reaching our potential because the human mind is virtually limitless.
When we change our mind, we change our life. When you awaken inside yourself the ability to think and feel differently...to freeyour mind from the potential blockages or belief systems you had in the past that simply aren’t true... you also open the doorway to many possibilities in your career, health, finances and relationships.
3. Automate Your Productivity (Your Hand)
Most people can't make changes because they don't know how to implement. They have great ideas, goals and intentions but they can't consistently take action to create change that lasts in their life.
It's usually because they need to learn how to stop procrastinating and develop habits that come naturally to them. These are habits such as "doing the worst first"... that hard, ugly task you've been avoiding BUT also is the single best return on your time.
Once you have developed habits, you need to create systems.
Systems are the way to a stress free day.
Systems may not be sexy, but they are very successful. Wealthy people create systems and the systems do the work. In the business world, you hear this alot: “Don’t work IN your business, work ON your business”. But very few people take time out of their life to work ON their life.
The best system uses technology to the do the heavy lifting for you. That's how you can get more done with a lot less stress and is the cornerstone of a complete time management system.
How To Change Your Life Easily
Creating changes can be easy... it just takes a little time. "But I want to change my life now" I hear you say! The good news is, by aligning the heart, head and hand, changes can happen sooner that you think.
Many people sit on the sidelines in the game of life. I personally respect you for being the 1% of people who actually put themselves out there and do something about it. When you succeed, please help other people to make positive changes in their lives also.
